Love this coloring book. The other adult coloring books are too intricate, and since I do this to relax, not very helpful. Love the black back side of each page which keeps the markers, etc., from bleeding through. There is also another complete set of images in case you mess up or just want to color it again or share with someone.

It was just too basic for the kids but for little ones it is awesome!

but, why ,with all the many, upon many cute animals in this huge universe of ours and they repeat the same animals? I expected a coloring book of a different animal on every single page, not the exact same animal and scene repeated. Why would I or anyone else want to color the same picture over a second time?? Perhaps add a few new artists so no one runs out of ideas. There are way more than only 25 varieties of animals, birds , sea creatures and bugs, many living things more than only 25. No reason we should have to repeat all 25 again. Feeling cheated.

This is a beautiful Adult Coloring Book I love it, but some of the pages repeat in it. Overall big pages and beautiful illustrations.

I discovered this author when she won a prize at a watercolor show I attended, and I loved her painting. Found this book on Amazon and glad to have it. Yes, would prefer that it be bigger but, on the other hand, the smaller size makes it handy for me to take along with me to painting class and refer to when I need to. It's full of really masterful watercolor portraits that inspire me, as well as good direction regarding choice of colors, backgrounds, composition, and other topics.

I won't give it 5 stars due to its small size. It gets harder to see and follow the tutorials... I love how the author shows some basic palettes for different skin tones. It is a good book (and I am picky, believe me), just the tiny size of it is a down.

I think this is a good instruction book for watercolor portraits. Covers materials, techniques, and skin tones. Step by step instruction (average 5 to 7 steps). My one complaint about this book is the size. It is 6 1/2 by 9 1/2. Some pages have more than one instructional "step" photo on them, which makes them rather small and not as easy to see the details as you would with a larger format book.

Wonderful artist Peggi Habets tell us how to masterfully paint transformative, translucent portraits in watercolor capturing the essence of personality and character​.

I think this is geared to a painter with some experience, but it is an informative book for someone who is exploring portraiture. Parts are overwhelming, but interesting.

She captures faces and personalities in her portraits. Not just a photo, but an experience. She definitely finds people fascinating.

The book is filled with excellent tips and instruction as to her techniques with various ages of persons and how to approach them.

Excellent book on portraits.

Dear Readers, I am about to build a COM DLL which also uses DCOM library from 3rd party. I read Essential COM, Inside COM, and all stuffs I found on the Internet and MSDN. I can understand piece by piece but I cannot systemmize everything I learned from these sources. All the what, why and how are still scattered every where in this COM world. Until I read this book. I am so glad I found the right book that helps me reconstruct my learning so that I can apply what I have learned. I like the way the author presented the materials. The author linked the subject back and forth in such a way that the understanding grow from page to page. The pictures used plain language but very practical and to the point. This book takes me out of COM confusion. Now I am fully confident in designing the COM DLL assigned to me. I am so happy that I want to share with you all and highly recommend this book. It is not just the materials are so good but the price too. Oh, boy, what a perfect gift for such a price. Thank the author, the publisher, the distributors and those reviewers that lead me to this book.

This is a good book for C++ programmers wanting to learn com. This simplistic one language approach has made the book popular, since com is complicated enough without trying to briefly throw 3 programming languages at it. However, it will never be your only book on Com. Eventually you'll need to use your com objects from ASP or somewhere else (this is the purpose of com, binary reuse). This topic will also require a lot of study, and if your going to write com objects expect to spend a lot of time with this book open. I'm a programmer with 11 years experience. Com is one of the more complicated things I've encountered in my programming career. This book did have a few typo's (3 or 4 jumped out at me), however, they did not detract from the content. My first impression was that Don Box had the best book on Com I'd ever seen (I browsed it in Borders), but this book seemed equally as nice (and a few bucks cheaper).I would have liked to see another another practical example (never enough).Overall, an excellent book.

When I wrote this comment (25012000) all reviewers gave 5 stars to this book, and I did agree with them. I'd like just to add a hint: Essential COM (Don Box) book is better to explain COM, but if you are really new to COM read this Thai's book first (don't forget to read the appendix when you have read 4 first chapters), and then you can read the Essential COM.

This is an excellent book that is aimed at experienced C++ programmers. It is well written, clear, and to the point. The first four chapters cover the basics and lay a solid foundation for what's to come. The author starts the fifth chapter with "While you can actually write complete, functioning server and client components from the material given in the previous chapters, you'll find them very limited." The remainder of the book then provides the details on how to build and use distributed components. I have a number of books on COM/DCOM but this is without a doubt my favorite. I recommend it very highly. If I could own only one COM/DCOM book this would be it.

I didn't not know all I needed to know about come when I started this book, but by the time you get to chapter 6 you are well versed in the principles and concepts of COM and DCOM. The only short fall of this book is that it packs so much information into the first 6 chapters that you don't really see the whole picture until you start writing com objects. And because it is in c++ you start off with a hard language that will make all the others look easy. Get this book you will not be sorry. Makes an incrediblely great reference guide.

If you are going to buy one book on COM/DCOM, this should be it. I recommend it that highly. It contains a clear and concise introduction to all the important COM concepts. I also have Don Box's "Essential COM", but this one is much easier to follow. If you want to quickly come up to speed on COM programming and start writing some code quickly, get this book!

About the Author

Robert Cameron has been a photographer since 1921 when his father gave him a "Brownie" camera and encouraged him to use it. Cameron is now in his 90's and has published 16 of his "Above" books. I enjoyed the book and the photography is dazzling. It is an older book now but it is certainly still worth having. Aerial photography allows you to see "the forest rather than just the trees" as it were. It would have been nice if Cooke has given a fuller description of some of what was visible in the pictures. I guess everyone looks at the city and sees different things to interest them. Summarizing a city as vast as London in a picture book is to provide only a snapshot in time and from one or two person's point of view. Nevertheless it is a great picture book, as are all of Cameron's books.

I have never been to London, but I sure wish I had. When I was a college student oh-so-long-ago, I spent a summer in Germany to practice the language. We flew from New York to Shannon in Ireland, and thence to Frankfurt. England, seen from above, looked only like an immense cloud bank. But after reading and studying this book, I feel I've almost been there!

This may be suitable only for total London geeks like myself, who pore over maps and photos of the best city in the world. It is very satisfying to identify places one has visited, as seen from the air. It goes a little farther afield than I have personally wandered, of course, and reveals warts and all, but for the price this is a very nice addition to any London book collection.

Absolutely beautiful aerial photography. This book is a must for any London fan. Lovely coffee table book.

I used Amazon to buy a gift for friends in England. The Post Office wanted $45 to ship the package. Amazon did it for the cost of the book and approximately $8. Not only was it cheaper to buy from Amazon and let them ship internationally, the package arrived two weeks ahead of the projected arrival time. I strongly support using Amazon for any international shipping of products they carry. This will make Christmas shopping much easier.

Its a HUGE book. I didnt notice the size. But its ok. I still like it. I so enjoy seeing the places I walked and ventures when I visited London.

This publication is in a class by itself. It is London at a very comprehensive aerial glance. It presents a brief pictorial history of the City's architecture and design from Roman London to contemporary London, which is given a very comprehensive focus. It is a wonderful guide that convinced me that I must return to such an historical place.

Wonderful book if you are interested in London particularly if you are a history buff and would like to travel there.

I very much enjoyed this book.This is an easy to read book that discusses the rivalry between the two companies and relates it to and describes their past and present cooperate structure. The author does not dwell on items too long, such as Marvel’s bankruptcy where other books have done that. The book is all text with no illustrations and does not involve itself the actual comic book stories.For those familiar with the important events he gives behind the scenes information and quotes. For those not familiar with the most important events, he discusses them in chronological order.Marvel, in the 1960s is, of course, the “winner” in the race. Now, from a distance it is easy to see that the corporate structure of DC, its conservative outlook and it’s inability to change, held them back. Marvel’s innovative approach, led by Stan Lee, allows Marvel to grow and overtake the much bigger rival in comic book sales. The narrative of DC concentrates on Weisinger and Schwartz, a bit on Kanigher and very little on Schiff, although in the 1960s Batman became a big deal. Soon the DC narrative shifts to Carmine Infantino. In the later years, Joe Questa and other Marvel higher up do not come out looking good. And once again, no one has a kind word for Weisinger.I have written about this recently and it is discussed here. At the beginning of Marvel’s rise to fame, DC books seemed for children, they offered few adventures and lots of silly gimmicky covers. Yet, in the beginning of the 1960s DC thought themselves as literature and Marvel as, well, garbage. Their dialogue was simplistic and had no personality, so at a JLA meeting you could move the balloons around it would not matter who said what. These issues were gone into in detail in this book. And show why Marvel won the 1960s and 1970, creatively as well as on the stands.Reed discusses at length the events that led Marvel to Secret Wars and that help change it’s corporate structure. He does the same with the Death Of Superman and Crisis at DC, and, once again, shows how special events help circulation, but, later on often hurts it. Apparently, the author feels to DC has overtaken Marvel creatively, at least in the last couple of decades.A great deal of time is spent discusses the problems setting up the crossover issues, Superman vs. Spider-Man, and how the up and down animosity of the two companies often stand it its way. At the same time, Reed show how economically the two companies are somewhat dependent on each other. The author also discusses why many artist left on company to go to another. Or why an artist or writer would NEVER go to DC or Marvel.The author also lets us in a bit on the very good salaries and bonuses, sometimes a million dollars that popular creators now get. The book concludes with a look at the movies and the constant rebooting of the companies.I have no dog in this race but I reached a conclusion a long time ago. Creativity comes from an individual, not a corporation. Marvel in the 1960s and DC in the 1940s (not covered here) were their most creative when privately owned.

In "Slugfest: Inside the Epic, 50-Year Battle between Marvel and DC," journalist Reed Tucker provides a brisk, captivating account of the ongoing clash of the superhero-publishing titans.He's done a fine job portraying two companies traveling parallel tracks: Marvel, the scrappy upstart publisher of all-too-human superheroes that overtook longtime industry leader DC in the early 1970s and eventually became just as corporate as its main competitor; and DC, the staid corporate publisher with iconic, godlike heroes that's spent five-plus decades trying-sometimes successfully, sometimes not-to capture Marvel's brand of cool by bringing those icons like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman down to earth and making them relevant for modern readers.Tucker introduces his narrative with a vivid account of a cringe-inducing meeting at DC's bland New York headquarters in which worried executives try to figure out the secret of Marvel's success-and focus on imitating every superficial aspect of Marvel magazines except the storytelling because they refused to stoop to actually reading those books.At times, the publishers' battle for spandex supremacy is as intense-though not as violent and destructive-as anything depicted in their books. Industry personalities hurl vulgar schoolyard insults at their employer's rival. Those same personalities are the objects of talent wars as the companies poach each other repeatedly. They imitate, they plagiarize-and even engage in espionage that hews closer to "Get Smart" than James Bond. (In 1971, a DC executive left in his outbox a fake memo about publishing 500-page comics. The employee suspected of leaking company secrets to Marvel took the bait-and soon enough, Marvel was discussing publishing 500-page comics.)Of course, the personality who dominates Tucker's narrative is Stan Lee, who co-created (with Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko) conflicted, flawed heroes like the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man who were the antithesis of DC's idealized, perfect heroes. Tucker offers readers not the idealized "Stan the Man," but a writer who originally wanted nothing to do with comics and just wanted to make enough money to launch a career in more respectable publishing. In effect, Tucker does for Lee what Lee did for superheroes-he humanizes a seemingly larger-than-life figure.Tucker also makes clear that comics is primarily a male-dominated industry; the only women's voices heard in his narrative are those of Jenette Kahn, longtime DC president and publisher, and veteran Marvel writer/editor Ann Nocenti.Along the way, he also shows how the comics themselves evolved from inexpensive, four-color entertainment for children to more complex fare intended for a fanatically devoted, but aging, audience-and now, to valuable intellectual properties for conglomerates like Disney and Warner, respectively.It's Tucker's love of his topic that makes "Slugfest" such a knockout read.And "Slugfest" can be enjoyed not just by comic book fans, but also by students of business administration, as Tucker chronicles the lack of business acumen exhibited by editorial regimes at both companies. these terrible children! they are so mean! they deserved to get baked into bread! it rhymes, which is nice for figuring out pronunciation on some of the words i don't recognize. i don't know much german, but the illustrations tell a compelling story.

Even I can almost still recite this book from my memories, it was great to find it in electronic version, so I can read it to my son, who is now also learning german.It brought great childhood memories to life and I couldn't wait to download it/transfer it to my kindle.Also, to rememeber the great writer Wilhelm Busch was and what important writing this is.Kann ich nur empfehlen zu lesen.

I received an ARC for an honest review of this book.This was a refreshing & interesting story line in the MC book world. The two main characters meet under such horrific conditions and fight to prevail against the odds during their capture and after. (I don't want to write more about the actual story and spoil it.). I can say, this book will definitely not disappoint you.I am thinking that if you have read the 1st book in the series, you are familiar with this genre. I very much liked that Erin doesn't use the usual plot line (alpha man saves female) to write this story. Her story has some twists that you won't see coming and help in making this book stand out.Erin writes in a way that really brings you into the world that her characters live in. She developed her main characters by opening them up to their inner thoughts and fears, giving great insight to the depth of each one. And, introduces you into the extended characters in a way that really makes you want to see how they develop later on.I very much enjoyed both books in this series so far, and look forward to more work from Erin Trejo!

I can't even ... this was soooo Good !!Erin has managed to again write a book that brought me through every emotion imaginable and that was just the first few chapters .Wait , Don't worry ....there's more to come. She's not done with the Suspense, twists and Hot As Sin Sex .I loved how Bullet( Jace ) and Mouse (Trinity) didn't even know each other but through a small hole in wall. Where they were able to grasp hands ,which was their only solace while being tortured repeatedly in captivity.It was heartbreaking when they were finally freed and met briefly, only to be separated again and finding out who had put them in that situation in the first place ....Bastards!!These two are beyond broken in many ways , but they fight tooth and nail to find there way back to the safety of each others arms with the Help of the Knights of Sin MC .

Learning to Love is a good story. Bullet aka Jace is the male lead, we see a different side to him in this story, he is sweet, sexy, all protector and alpha when he needs to be. Mouse aka Trinity is the leading lady, her character shows strength in so many ways, the author put this character though hell and it was heartbreaking to read about her struggles. This is book two of Trejo's Knights of Sin series it's completely different than book one and gives even more power to this series. I loved the secondary characters and I can't wait to read the next stories in this series. Happy Reading!!!

Learning to love!Wow this series just keeps getting better and better. This is the second book in the series and I couldn't put it down. Bullet and Mouse meet while there being held captive in underground cells where only there fingers can touch. Will the bond they form during their captivity be enough to get them through the fight that lies ahead? You'll have to read it to find out. I can't wait for the next book in this series!!!

Learning to Love was phenomenal. Erin Trejo has an innate ability to dazzle her readers with her soulful words. You will fall in love with character's that will leave motorcycle imprints on your heart forever. The plights and uncertainties will render you speechless. The honesty and trust between the main characters will make you believe in love and second chances. Erin Trejo you are simply amazing. Your writing is addictive and all encompassing. Five stars guaranteed.

Jace (Bullet) and Trinity (Mouse) meet while they are in hell. They hold each other together and form a bond through both of them being abused and broken down!!! The Knights save them but that only puts Mouse in another kind of hell and Jace doesn't realize it. When stuff gets really bad Mouse hurts herself and Jace steps in and starts fighting for her. Will they fight for each other ???

Bullet and Mouse story is a ride you definitely do not want to miss! Family drama to the extreme, unexpected turns, violence, retrebution, and emotionally packed. I cried, laughed, feared, hated, lusted and loved. I really cheered Mouse on and at timed wanted to give her a push. Bullet and Mouse soothe and complete each other, soul mates and yes they get their HEA💖 Already waiting for the next in the series.

Wow, this book was so awesome from beginning to end. These two have been through so much and to find what they found was amazing. I actually read this book twice in case I missed anything. Loved it.
