About the Author
Viviana Durante is considered to be one of the greatest, most dramatic ballerinas of her generation. Born in Rome, she became The Royal Ballet's youngest principal dancer at 21 and was also principal ballerina with American Ballet Theatre, Teatro alla Scala, and Japan's K-Ballet. Viviana holds a Diploma of Dance Teaching from The Royal Ballet School and a Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning from Trinity College, London. She coaches and teaches internationally.

This was a cmas gift for my mom & the only thing she asked for. It has gorgeous pictures and insights from the dancers as well. A real treasure trove of ballet knowledge and trivia!
Very good quality of the paper, illustrations, photos. Information is quite interestingly presented, as a chronological story, not as encilopedia. Would be a good gift for 10yo to adult.
Beautiful book! Just what we were looking for...basically the history of ballet. It’s filled with stunning photographs. My only complaint was the dust jacket was damaged in shipping. They packing could have been done with more care. I’m glad this isn’t a gift or I would have had to return it.
I bought it as a gift so I was only able to skim through it - but from just that I was impressed by the pictures, illustrations and synopsis of the ballets. I think my niece will enjoy this book! Could you suggest a book about starting on toe shoes? Thanks!
