I read this in one sitting which is saying a lot for me. Such an incredibly deep and powerful book that will rock your world and shift your thinking and the way you perceive things. I highly recommend this for anyone and everyone. At least read it once. Especially as a Christian it was a powerful way to seeing how i need to think and even believe on a deeper, higher level. Its a small book but worth reading a few times.

This book was a complete life change for me. My entire life I have always been moody, emotionally unstable, tossed to and fro by my thoughts, bubbling with enthusiasm one moment and then sulking in a stupor the next. My last relationship was destroyed by such a mindset. Although I had ideas of what had gone wrong, this book eloquently expounded on ideas that I had vague thoughts of, but was unable to put into words. The first time I was able to put the knowledge I learned from this book into practice was a emotionally explosive moment as I realized that I finally was able to control my thoughts and take a hold of my mind. Would highly recommend this book to any and all.

This is easily one of the best books that I have read. It isn't long, but it is packed with more information than you can wrap your head around. I have read it 4 times since I got it 3 months ago, and I am working on it again. I loved this book so much that when I was in the middle of the second chapter, I got back on Amazon and ordered another 2 copies of it. Then when I finished it I went to order 3 more but I couldn't because they were still sold out from the time that I ordered the other 2. So I had to wait for them to print more, then I did order 3 more, so I have 6 copies now and I don't regret it at all.It just feels like every paragraph is pure gold honestly, sometimes it took me 20 minutes to make it through one page because of the realizations that I was having, and I needed to take time to scribble my notes into the margins. There is nothing in this book that doesn't absolutely need to be there, so you can be sure that it is worth your time and you won't be reading any filler material whatsoever. This will change your perspective on life, and if you actually do the things that are here, you change yourself. I honestly saw a change in how happy I was by doing the things that James Allen said. This is basically scripture to me now.The only complaint that I have isn't about the book, it's more about me, because I wish that I was better at doing the things outlined in this book because I know that it would help me out a ton. So that is the next goal, make sure that I am doing the things here.

This is not a smooth, flowing read. It's full of words the average person doesn't use and speech patterns of a time now past. This may or may not be part of its charm and effect.It does however illustrate quite well the though patterns of the champions of our world and lay clear instructions for success in life. Quite simply you are what you think. It's not a book on getting rich or making friends or being happy. It's a book that reminds you of the basic principals of thought and how your thoughts effect every aspect of life. A short little reminder that your mind is your greatest asset or your biggest liability.

This is one the smallest books I've read in my life and yet most impactful and eye-opening book. This book put a lot of stress on an idea that Man is what he thinks he becomes and what he does and it's not the circumstances which make him but he makes the circumstance. If you are going through or ever been through a rough patch in your life you need to read this book. If you've ever been successful or are successful in your life you need to read this. If you are rich or ever have been rich, you need to read this book. If you are poor or was poor at one time in your life you need to read it. If you are depressed or have been depressed, you need to read this book and at-last if you are happy or were happy in your life you need to read this book. In short, no matter what the circumstance is you're going through, you need to read this book not once, not twice but at least a dozen times in your life!

I really love this book and it's teaching. I want to change my life in every area and it's up to me alone. It's teaching is very empowering. It's really up to me and when I change my mind I will change my life and it starts with my thinking. I bought 2 more books from my teenage nephews because the sooner they can learn to control their thinking and acquire what they really want out of life the better. I plan to read this book once a month for 6 month so the principles can sink in plus it's less than 80 pages.

This book packs more power than many of the best selling books in the crowded field combined. You will be better of reading this short book and following through on half of it than buying all of Robbins material and attending his seminars. Not that Tony Robbins and his colleagues does not have valuable lessons to teach, it's just that this book does such a great job in less than 50 pages that any other approach to self improvement seams a waste of time. Read it and then go do it.

Working through the first 10-15 pages of this short work can be challenging. The author comes across as condescending with statements of moral impunity. The idea that all circumstances are the result of thoughts and that unfortunate moments come only to those with parallel thoughts is unsettling.But proceed. As the book continues you discover the true wealth of this book, in the idea that we can influence our surroundings, circumstances and even health by shifting towards positive, cheerful, good thoughts. Yes, yes, you can summarize the basic notion with "think positive," but the language is influential and I see how this book has influenced self-help authors. I see a lot of Neil Strauss (The Game) philosophy rooted in these passages.I may have conquered the negativity of life in social circumstances but I not infrequently find myself annoyed by a YouTube ad or some other petty inconvenience, which in turn has genuine effects on my subsequent behavior towards others. The practice must be applied across all circumstances of life. It's a challenging but great idea.

One of my favorite Tom Clancy books. The Audible edition is one that I listen to just about once every year. Michael Prichard is the narrator for this and many of the other Tom Clancy books in this series. He does a great job with the voices for the different characters. I'm happy to have this book (both Kindle & Audible edition) in my collection. The counter terrorist strike force story is well thought out and the action holds your attention.

The bad guys in the novel are "tree-huggers"--people willing to kill billions of humans--absurd premise for a story. I couldn't help but resent the ridiculous portrayal of environmentalists, but otherwise the story is interesting and the action is exciting. Some parts are boring--when characters second guess themselves over and over. Movies made from his books leave out the boring parts--one of the rare instances in which I prefer the movies to the books.

Wonderful book!! This book tells the story of John Clark and Ding Chavez and their starting up of an international anti-terrorist unit. Instead of their usual role in the normal Jack Ryan books, they are now the main characters. The story is about the missions they take on and the way they accomplish them with the additional concurrent story of an conspiracy of biological attack on all of humanity. The story of well put together. There are no gaps and the story line flows smoothly.But this is not the only story that has John Clark (then John Kelly) as the main character. He first appears in "Without Remorse", telling his back story. That book even has Jack Ryan's father, a police officer, in it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that book also since it tells who he is\was and how he became a C.I.A. officer.

I love the way Tom Clancy weaves his stories. He has a knack for making you see the story from all sides and experience what the characters are going through. If I had to critique one thing it would be how unrealistic some of the dialogue is between ding and his wife, an MD, regarding killing. I realize that the intent isn't to glorify it but it just struck me as forced and unrealistic that a woman who married a career soldier, who then went on to work for the CIA, would be that naive. Beyond that I have to say it's a fantastic read..

Good story but it meanders through pages of unnecessary dialog. The author could have added more missions by the Six group. A good example of what I mean is a book like Lone Survivor or the Reaper. Clearly the content is different but I love the way the story is told in the latter books I mention. Well written, full of relevant action packed (and sometimes humorous) details, and fast paced. This book could have been so much better.

Nice story line BUT I somehow got the impression that someone else wrote the ending of this book. The last 50 pages seemed noticeably different. And who ever wrote it ... used His own style of speaking for the characters - at times forgetting to change from one character to another! Clark seemed out of character at the end of the book! Minor annoyances: 'Kay instead of Okay; putters instead of Computers - adding 'eh' at the end of sentences. Unrealistic exclamations: Clark upon explaining to a high ranking officer that the terrorists planned to kill more than 99% of the Worlds population responded with "you're kidding, eh". At least the spelling was not bad in this book!

This well articulated story is centered on John Clark, and Ding Chavez as a new worldwide anti-terrorism force is headquartered in England, with John Clark as its leader. The group is beyond a black operation. This story details 4 major terrorist attacks, three of which are engineered by an ex KGB Colonel at the behest of a rich American business man/scientist. This is a great read!

It's extremely violent, but my 12-year-old could not put it down. Since the intended audience is a bit older than that, I didn't knock it down a star.

I cook better than anyone I know. People love to eat my food. Its in no small part to this book. What a great cookbook! As the title suggests, this book is packed with "Big Flavor" recipes. Mr. Fobel has mastered walking that fine line between not enough and too much spice. The resulting recipes are awesome. My current favorites include "Harlem Meatloaf" and his fresh roasted "green chili" -- both of which are absolutely incredible.In addition to the recipes, his cookbook contains lots of little factoids about cooking, techniques, and ingredients.What a great book.Steve

Out of the hundreds of cookbooks I have this is my most consitently used. Everything is absolutely incredible. Many of the recipes are a bit time consuming but very much worth it! It's full of neat info and tidbits of trivia. Try the bolognese sauce and the barbeque sauce. Both are out of this world.Ken

But before reaching his destination, he stops to assist a disabled carriage. Upon discovering that an English woman is the passenger, he makes assumptions about her based on his dislike for her country. Lady Clarissa Burton has left England to avoid any gossip after an incident, and she also forms an opinion about the Scotsman because of how she currently perceives most men. Besides doing good deeds, he is honest and candid, and this led to some humorous conversations with his best friend. Ewan and Clarissa have some talks filled with quick-wit, too, and I chuckled at some of their rather mocking comments. There are moments when emotions take over a situation, and any events where desire is in control are tenderly passionate. Many of the secondary characters had fascinating personalities, and I hope lots of them get to tell their own stories. I will certainly be reading more of the books in this series.

This was a wonderful Scottish romance and Ewan was an awesome hero. Clarissa and Ewan both had issues to overcome that made the story interesting and made their characters feel real. It was just so beautiful to see how much they began to care about each other and how they tried to understand each other's problems. I found that I enjoyed watching Clarissa get her backbone and to stand up to her father and former betrothed for what she wanted and to finally stop running from her problems. Truly a most enjoyable romance.

I just love Tammy Andresen's books they're just wonderful her story lines are always well thought out they're well written characters are all well defined and I just love this story I'm sitting here at 3:48 in the morning in the bathtub it's my favorite place to read and I just had to get to the end of it that's how I am with her books that's how all of her books are you just have to keep reading until you get to the end then when you get to the end you're sorry it's over you want more so consequently you by the next book because you can't wait to read it I really do love her books she's a fantastic writer she just grips you from the beginning and she grabs your heart and soul into her book I love it I give it 10 Stars if I could

I have not read these books in order and wasn't lost.Not sure if I would say the romance built slowly because it just seemed to happen. There is lovemaking outside of marriage, with heat level 3.5-4 out of 5, not vulgar.We do get HEA, no cheating and no cliffhanger. We have an epilogue 1 year in the future. This is not about clans fighting. There is a villain, but a mild one, little on drama and suspense. (ljb)

Ewan🐺🍆🌋 comes on so strong to Clarissa💃💋 that she thinks he is another rake that will only break her heart💔 again.

Evan and Clarissa.Great start to the series. It was not love at first sight, they were both battling their pasts. But slowly broke down each others walls and found love.Very likeable main characters, and secondary characters which made me download the rest of the series. A great way to spend a couple hours.

This is the first book I've read by this author. She is going to easily become a new favorite. This is such a good read and you're drawn into the lives of the characters from the start. There are some hot scenes and a slimy villain to keep you on the edge. Definitely recommend!

I thought I knew the city, but this guide is stuffed with all sorts of interesting tidbits about DC's history & it's neighborhoods & gives some good tips about tours & other attractions you don't usually think of when you think of Washington. (Who knew you could tour the fancy reception rooms on the top floor of the State Dept where Hillary entertains all the foreign big-wigs?) The guide also covers many of the sites outside Washington---Mt. Vernon & Arlington Cemetery, of course, but it also does a pretty good job on the nearby Civil War battlefields (Bull Run; Antietam; Gettysburg). It even covers Charlottesville & Jefferson's Monticello, plus Colonial Williamsburg & Yorktown (where the battle ending the Revolutionary War was fought), the Blue Ridge and the Shenandoah, and the Atlantic Beaches. All of these are within easy striking distance of Washington. This guide is really well written, it has lots of great photographs and it covers everything you could possibly want to see.
