This is a well informed author but this book will really aggravate you!!!!! I have tried to complete reading this book several times. Each time I finish one chapter, I have to set the book down and calm my nerves. It is so well written and I highly recommend reading this book, if you really want to know how our government is really operating. America is in for a rude awakening and this book confirms how the American people don't even have a clue as to the fullest extent of how we are being underminded.

The author makes a compelling point that over the last two centuries, and especially since WW II, a huge, largely unaccountable government bureaucracy has built up that has more influence than other branches of government.Mr. Sekulow refers to this bureaucracy as "the fourth branch" of the US government.He makes a lot of valid points. Civil servants, even politically appointed ones, serve for years and years. It is almost impossible to remove a civil servant from a position no matter how incompetent or partisan. In one notable case, the government eliminated only three positions from an organization with 1,500 government employees. Based on the laws surrounding civil servants and intervention of the local union, it involved shuffling over 1,200 of those employees to accommodate "bump and retreat" for the vested civil servants.As the author points out, the vast majority of US citizens have no idea how the government operates.One caveat, this is not to say that everyone (or even a majority of people) working for the government are bad, unqualified, or partisan people, but the point still stands that vast malfeasance is possible and cannot easily be remedied when it occurs.Mr. Sekulow advocates for sweeping reforms to our antiquated civil service system, and whatever your political bent it is hard to disagree with his well researched facts and logic.

A MUST READ!The "Administrative State", aka the fourth branch of government, is an entangled complex web of greed, corruption and unrelenting lust for power.Jay Sekulow does an outstanding job taking the complex and simplifying it so it's easy for all to understand. This book is well organized, concise and well documented with "Notes".He provides a good cross section of the unelected and unaccountable "Administrative State" by calling out the IRS, the VA, the DoJ, the EPA, the FCC and the NLRB with vivid illustrations of their willful neglect and disdain for the U.S. Constitution and for the rule of law. The consequences of such an unconstitutional branch of government become quite apparent.Fortunately Jay offers real world tangible solutions to reign in this unaccountable and unelected bureaucracy with a blueprint to resist their intrusion into our lives, to reform the entire entity and to restore our constitutional republic. He cites Article V's provision for a "convention of states" as one possible solution among others. I am a strong advocate and supporter of this measure; since his book was released, this effort has gained significant momentum with 12 States (of the requisite 34 required) now having called for such a "convention of states".As Jay states, "It's time to reintroduce the constitutional process to our federal agencies."And last but certainly not least, Jay cautions readers against despair; he encourages us to think about our individual responsibility to our ourselves, to our families, to our children and to our children's children.Excellent book! Matthew 9:38 and'if the LORD does not build the house, the laborers labor in vain"; so remember to get out and vote and don't be shy outside of your workplace and campaign if you can. I've been in a season of appreciating other peoples prayers and this book of 365 prayers (1 for each day of the year) is a beauty. Smith began praying over particular verses of Scripture and then decided to write them down. I'm so pleased he did. Written in everyday language but often with a clever turn of phrase, Smith's prayers cover a range of topics that are rooted in the application of Scripture. Rooted in confession, a spirit of repentance and the glory of grace these prayers have helped me focus my time with the Lord. One day's prayer may focus on the beauty of creation, the next on friends in need, to days confessing his own sinfulness, but at all times Smith brings us back to the awesome love of the Lord.I've loved starting my day meditating on these prayers and plan to continue to do so. I've found that I've reflected often during the course of the day on a particular prayer and also been stimulated in praying my own prayers about a day's topic.Highly recommended.

You must get this book! What a refreshing, convicting, comforting and challenging book. Scotty reveals himself through these prayers because of his honesty and transparency, but more important, he teaches us how welcome we are at the throne of grace. No pretensions, no boasting, no pressure. Just communion with the One who promised to complete the work He began in us. I could go on and on. Thank you, Scotty. You have helped me so much to see prayer not as a burden, not as something I need to do, but as a gift from God. I'm learning that God doesnt "need" me; He can accomplish His purposes without any help from me. But He does "want" me, and that elicits such love from me and the desire to commune with Him and serve Him with my whole heart.

This book has the feel of eavesdropping on someone else's prayers. I found that I could pray many of the prayers right along with the author because some of his experiences and his temperament were similar to mine. On many other occasions, though, his prayers were too closely related to his personal experience for me to make them my own as well. Still, I thought each prayer was valuable in that it helped me focus on the gospel and how it intersects with my life. This was a good book for helping me learn how to pray for myself.

Scotty Smith has been supernaturally gifted in writing these prayers. Besides being informed by the gospel, these prayers are personally edifying to pray. It serves not only as a prayer book but also as a sort of devotional to remind me of what's important and help me keep my eyes fixed on my Savior and hope, Jesus.

Everyday Prayers, by Scotty Smith has turned out to be among my most cherished books. I purchased it for my Kindle Fire in December, 2014. I am absolutely THRILLED with the prayers contained therein, and find myself praying along with the author and personalizing the prayers for my own particular situation. The reason I only gave it 4 stars has nothing to do with the content or style of the author. Scotty Smith has a beautifully vulnerable and transparent way of expressing himself. The fault I find is that this book does not work well on my kindle. When I attempt to "turn" the pages, it may work for a few seconds, but then decides to close down on me. This is utterly frustrating and very disappointing to me. I have no issues with turning the pages in any of the other books downloaded onto my Kindle. In fact I spent a considerable amount of time with the Kindle tech people, deleting this book and having it re-downloaded, only to find the same issue. I can only assume that there is something amiss in the Kindle version of this book, and NOT with my device. HOWEVER, I recently ordered the hard copy of this and am very impressed and extremely blessed!

Sometimes we need to shake ourselves out of our routine and these prayers have helped me gain a renewed sense of communication with God. I am rejuvenated in my personal prayers. I am exploring new facets of prayer. If you need a jump start this will do it! Wonderful prayers for daily needs and circumstances. I am a caregiver for my father who has dementia at age 99. I'm reading it just as the days pass. Since it is only March that's all the further I am. But this is the longest I've stuck to a daily devotional so it hasn't bored me. If your not one for a long Bible reading but still need something to apply it to you today, it helps you understand a way of thinking for you today. It's written to read in the morning but I read it before turning off my light at night. It straightens out my thinking if problems that would have kept me awake longer. I recommend it if you're not into long Biblical transitions.

I love these prayers. Mr. Smith prayers from the heart. He exposes his vulnerabilities recognizing that only God can change him. He's very transparent which makes his prayers more poignant. It also leaves us with the hope, the belief, the understanding that our prayers should be ones that lay ourselves on the table, on the Potters wheel allowing the Potter to transform us. It reminds us that only honesty with God will bring deliverance. It also encourages us that our loving heavenly Father wants to hear our prayers and answer them. This devotional has been a blessing and an encouragement to me and I know it will be the same for others.

I just received this book, and it seems very nice. My biggest complaint is that the version of "God Help the Outcasts" is not what you hear in the movie (The Hunchback of Notre Dame). I was very disappointed by this, seeing as that may have been the song I was most excited about... :( Anyway, I am really pleased with the rest of the songs though, and I am excited to work on them! I would have given this book five stars if it wasn't for the altered version of "God Help the Outcasts". However, if that song doesn't matter to you, I highly suggest this book.

BEWARE! The first time I ordered this book, by description, I thought I was getting the CD also. Well, just the book came. I talked to an Amazon agent and he confirmed that by description, he thought I should have received the CD also. He processed an RA and I under his direction I proceeded to order another book and CD, so we thought. A few days later I received another book and no CD. Again, I called Amazon and told the agent that I now had 2 books and no CD. Before I could express my dissatisfaction, she was apologizing up and down and told me that I should order a CD and she would refund both book purchases, not process an RA for the second book, and cancel the RA for the first book I received, and give me a $20.00 dollar credit on my account on top of it all. I was so shocked!! I couldn't believe what I just heard. She said that Amazon wants to keep its customers loyal and happy while maintaining their high customer satisfaction rating. Both agents that I spoke with very polite, courteous, etc. In the end I got 2 books, a CD, and a $20.00 credit on my account just as she said I would. I'm still surprised at the end result. Even though it took a little effort to get the correct items to me, Amazon exemplified customer service to the highest degree. Keep up the good work Amazon, I'm a HAPPY Customer! On another note, my daughter's voice professor recommended this book and my daughter loves it!

Great book of basic songs every singer should have their repertoire.

Was under the impression the CD would be with it. Maybe my misunderstanding, but if it is not supposed to include it please update the description to state that the CD is NOT INCLUDED. This is the same book my daughter uses in her voice lessons and she is happy about it, so now to find the audio.

This is my go-to beginner book for teens in MT. Some of the songs are pitches lower than the original keys but not so low as to be unsingable. Good selection of songs.

Excellent collection of musical theatre songs in a medium range for young teens.

I'm another who thought a CD came with this book. I am very disappointed.
