The book was very explanatory and easily to read and understand. Great for SAT and other college entrance expectations. I do recommend this book to anyone preparing for exams or want to learn more of the basic skills of writing.I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is the only LSAT study book I've purchased, and I'd say it's worth it to buy a used copy. I really just wanted to learn the diagramming strategies, and it gave fairly clear explanations of those. I also thought that the pace at which the question difficulty increased was good. I worked through the whole book in about 4 days (maybe 14-16 hours). I think I made a good selection, and don't plan on buying another book (just previous tests for practice). However, there are several outright errors in the text as well as some things I thought were very poorly explained. Details follow:First, if-then statements are introduced in Ch. 5 (pages 85-6 in the 2010 edition), and the author makes several explicit references to formal logic. However, it isn't until page 254 that the author notes in an aside that if-then statements on the LSAT are not actually treated the same way as they are in formal logic. (In formal logic, the truth-value of an if-then is automatically T whenever the antecedent is false. I still don't really understand how if-thens are treated on the LSAT, because the book's explanation leaves me confused as to how if-then is distinguished from iff. I'm not sure whether that's entirely the fault of the book or if it's because I'm so accustomed to formal logic.) This lack of clarity made some of the examples and the corresponding explanations of the answers extremely confusing; for example, on page 90, formal logic would dictate that all of the answers could be true, though apparently only one is.Second, I'm fairly certain that the "Rank and File" game on pages 208-210 is not set up properly. I worked through the second question (top of 210) multiple times on different days and arrived at the same answer each time, but that answer wasn't one of the options. I then guilted my older brother (a math prodigy, pretty much, and also familiar with formal logic) into spending 10 minutes of his Christmas break working through the whole problem. All I told him was which question I was having trouble with, and he arrived at the same conclusion I did: the reasoning in the walk-through of the answer is simply flawed (specifically, "If Ursula were the fifth of these, then Violet also wouldn't be ranked, which is a contradiction." First, Ursula would be the fourth, not the fifth; second, neither of us could see anything that would make that a contradiction, even with the different if-then meaning). Again, we both identified that same line as the issue independently.Finally, while I didn't happen to note the page (or even the chapter), there's at least one question that has a typo in one or more of the answers (one of the "chips" is listed twice, and it wasn't intended as a trick to disqualify the answer; it's simply wrong).All that said, I found the book to be very helpful overall, and I'm glad to have the three full practice sections to work through in addition to all the examples. If you want to be really optimistic, you can pretend that the errors in the book are a source of fun, extra practice as you second-guess the explanations the author provides. If that rings too hollow for you, comfort yourself with the fact that most of it seems accurate, and there are always actual LSAT questions to rely on for practice instead of the ones the author came up with, so it's still worth it to buy a used copy.

This book is AWESOME. Coming from someone who did not understand logic games at all, this book easily taught me. The book goes very slow and takes you step by step each kind of logic game that the LSAT offers. It even has sample games with answers in the back of the book. I really actually grew to enjoy solving the games because of this book! Highly recommend!

The methods this book teaches are not the easiest to use in my opinion. The Manhattan prep books are the best. This book is all right but will leave you only partly prepared and when you use another book to supplement, the methods will be different and confuse you even more. So just start out with a good and exhaustive book from the start.

The book gives very logical and clear explanations. The author presents the material in an easy-to-follow format. Be aware that the book has several typos, but these are fairly easy to see. There is one error worth mentioning:Page 155, Solution to Game 3(MISTAKE 1)First H is (correctly) attached to B; suddenly it's (incorrectly) attached to P.(MISTAKE 2)On the continuation of explaining this game on page 157, the answer provided says that the possibilities are:FBPSHDGBFDPSHGBDFPSHGDBFPSHGThe problem clearly states that F always comes before B ("He goes to the bookstore sometime after the florist..."), so this is obviously incorrect. The correct answer is:FBPSHDGFBDPSHGFDBPSHGDFBPSHGOther than that, the book is actually very well-written. It breaks logic games down for you. Other books I've seen just give examples and explanations, but seem to not really give you a set of tools for solving the games. This book will give you a method to solve every problem.

I bought this book because I am awful at logic games and wanted a way to improve on them without paying for a class. I found that the book is inconsistent in some ways, such as how to symbolize facts about each game. Further, the author does not sufficiently explain how he arrives at his conclusions and makes the deductions that he does. Either my logical skills are really subpar or he does not explain thoroughly enough. I ended up buying the ExamKrackers Analytical Reasoning book and have been much more satisfied. I would highly recommend that book instead.

I found this book to be very helpful. In many ways, I found the problems in this book to be harder than the problems encountered on the actual LSAT.

After reading "LSAT for Dummies" and trying a few official LSAT prep-tests, I knew that I needed an organized strategy for solving the Analytical Reasoning questions. This book was exactly what I had hoped! The author categorizes the games into two basic forms and then develops the strategies by adding more complex rules in subsequent chapters. A section at the end of the book is devoted to possible games that are less common. I highly recommend this book because it is incredibly helpful for a reasonable price!

This was the hardest section of the LSAT by far for me. And this book breaks it down into small, easier to manage lessons and it really helped me improve.

Are you struggling getting motivated with the national boards process?! If so this is your go to book! The first half of this book changed my life and I'm not finishing up the NB process without buying this one too. It will make a world of difference especially if you do not have a lot of people to work with through the process. It can be hard to stay motivated and sometimes when you read the NB directions it all can be very confusing. This author does a great job breaking things apart and helping you keep the focus. Buy it, I promise you won't regret it. I'm a high school counselor in NC and if you live in NC you will get a large raise if you have completed the NB process. It's about the only way to keep moving forward professionally with higher pay.

I used the previous edition to help me with components 1,2, and 3, so I was extremely excited about this book. Now I'm working on Component 4 and I just didn't find this book very helpful. I could have used it for Component 3, but there is not as much for the last component.

I am completing C4 and this was not helpful to me. Maybe if I were also completing C3 it would have been helpful, however I did 1,2,3 last year.

Oh man. I love this book. I'm in my second year of going for National Board Certification, and wish that I'd bought this book last year. Might have passed! Excellent tips on components 3 and 4. You can't go wrong here. I'm grateful.

This book is extremely helpful! The author breaks down the confusing portfolio requirements and puts them into simple language while also providing great writing tips. Definitely worth purchasing if you are working on Components 3 & 4!

I found out today that I achieved National Board Certification- I purchased both of Bobbie Faulkner's books and I am certain that without them, I would not have become a NBCT. The books are short and to the point- user friendly and they are the only resource I had during my two year process. I recommend these books highly and they are well worth the cost.

An Excellent Resource!!! Since I will be working on Components 3 and 4 this upcoming school year, I feel that having this book now has really provided me an outline of what to focus on so this summer so that when school starts, I can hit the ground running! I highly recommend this for anyone beginning their National Board Journey!!!

THESE are a GODsend when working on NB! They are QUICK and to the point with just the information needed! and I passed all 4 comps in first try!!!! But remember you gotta KNOW your standards and make sure everything you do is FOR the STUDENTS!!!! :) Good Luck!

I actually read this historically notorious work years ago and, as I've done in many cases, recently decided to back up the paper original with a digital copy.As the pop sensation '50 Shades of Grey' has little (to nothing) to do with what practitioners would call "real" BDSM, '120 Days of Sodom' is more evocative of the dungeons of the Spanish Inquisition than of the safe, sane and consensual practices engaged in by those in that understandably quiet community. In short, this is no Romance Novel.Nor is it a starter's guide to tapping a little kink or two into your marital boudoir.It is of course fascinating and shocking, and if you're the least bit interested in what sort of high-born excesses inspired the French peasantry to rise up and start cutting all those aristocratic heads off, go for it. [Hint: it wasn't "Let them eat cake."]If you can make it through the first few chapters, anyway.I couldn't on the first try, and "prudish" or "squeamish" are not words that anyone would ever use to describe me.Remember that de Sade wrote this while he was imprisoned. He wasn't in for parking violations. And it's not fiction. So if you're caught up in this current, blushing interest in the naughty and one of your Lit or European History Major friends mentioned the old Marquis in your after-movie giggle fest, look away. However if you are genuinely compelled to learn more about the more advanced forms of phychosexual expression I reccomend 'The Story of O'. That, I can assure you, will be scary enough a leap for the book-and-Chardonnay club.

This is the seminal BDSM book! It is packed with seminal stuff, in fact. Kidding aside, this so-called novel recounts in sometimes excruciating detail the natures of sadists, with some more about masochists and aficionados of Bondage and strict Discipline. By any standard of human decency, the characters and the story are abjectly repulsive. The book celebrates the practice of the reversal of all things called humane and the indulgence in every depravity the mind can concoct.As such there is a certain purity and completeness in that it purely reaches the deepest depths of human bestial degeneracy. It is also called great literature. Most sane adults should read it in order, at least, to come face to face with its topics as a way of encountering the world comprehensively.

Worth a read. I knew it was going to be sick and twisted by reading other reviews. That is what pulled me in. The content was truly demented. Shocking, however, the shock value wears off fairly quickly. Pretty much every single sexually deviant behavior you could possibly imagine, predictably, happened. The deviance escalates as the book goes on, but it does so in such a long drawn out way that I found myself quite bored by it. I did finish it and I'm glad I did because this book is such a controversial one.

A hard and bitter pill to swallow. This is not "easy" read, however if you understand the point of the book you will see that it could not have been told any other way. One book that I guarantee will change the way you look at the world forever.

OMG this book is explicit dirty disgusting depraved. But sooo soo interesting. I had to stop about half way because it was truly too disturbing the things being described and the physical abuse being performed on these people. After putting it down for about a month or two I picked up back up and was slightly less disturbed, (still disturbed) but just a little less. But I would say everyone should read this book once.

Interesting and disturbing. Incredibly graphic. I could only read a little at a time. Only read it if you have a strong stomach. Wouldn't say I ENJOYED it, but I was INTRIGUED AND FASCINATED and I'm glad I read it.

I bought this hoping for a full, unabridged version. This publishing is not either. I didn't check out the first review.As for some of the other reviews on this book. The Marquis De Sade did NOT write pretty things.He is infamous for his deviant explicit sexual content/violence. Anyone who has NO IDEA of what or who he is, should probably do a bit of research before picking up one of his books and being offended and disgusted, The word Sadist, is said to be based on his name.

I thought after reading this guy's wiki page, it's be interesting to see what kind of book got him thrown in jail... Now I'm surprised that's all they did. Part 1 becomes a bit redundant at times with the fixation on coprophilia, however by the time I got to the end of Part 4 I wanted to curl up in a ball and think about happy things.

This book gives a great overview of investing in real estate, stocks, bonds and starting a business. The author also covers Economics, mortgages and accounting for investors. There is a lot of good information and the writing is clear. The book is easy to read and at around 200 pages, is also a quick read. I like what this book has to offer, but it is by no means exhaustive. It will give a beginning investor enough information to know what some of the instruments to building wealth are and what to study to learn more about them. I think it is a good book to have in your library of investment and wealth building books. The 3rd edition was written in 2014I was offered a free Kindle version (1st edition, 2011) of this book, without any strings attached. After reading the book, I decided to purchase the print version to have on my shelf for future reference.

First off, please don’t approach this book as an ordinary everyday read, because it’s not. It is a small textbook that educate you on the do’s and don’ts on how to execute in buying a home, starting the proper business entity, investing and more. Please purchase this book if you are an aspiring entrepreneur, or a student looking for a guide on how to execute the right investment

Reading through this book, I was amazed at the amount of content that was in here, and most of the tutorials were great for someone new to 3D printing, but i'm willing to bet even some of the most experienced 3D printer people out there haven't tried all of the different things compiled in here.Printer ReviewsIf you are buying this book for printer reviews, you're much better off with the "Make: Ultimate Guide to 3D Printing 2014". It has more printers, and is more up-to-date, even though it was available (for me, anyways) before this book. As an example, this book reviews the Felix 1.0 printer from Felix Printers, where the new guide reviews the 2.0. (and the 3.0 is already shipping, so not sure why they take so long to test) This was the same with the cube printers, and the MakerBot Replicator 2 vs the 2x.Software TutorialsIf you want to learn 3D modeling, this guide offers a lot of options and even walks you through making a pencil topper in TinkerCAD. There was a bunch of information about slicer as well, which was informative about 3D printing, but the found it odd that a guide for complete beginners didn't even mention that this was not needed for someone using a MakerBot Replicator 2.3D ScanningReally enjoyed the scanning tutorial, but it was literally copied and pasted from the "Getting Started with Makerbot" book a year ago. The cleanup guide was actually stated in the first page that it was outdated and a new video was posted, but instead of updating the tutorial, it was the same one as in the old book. Also, it mentioned that Mac users have to use some type of Windows with ReconstructMe, and mentions nothing of the Skanect software, (released in January 2013) which is a decent Mac alternative. Again, something mentioned in the magazine that didn't make it in this book.Finishing Techniques and Post-ProcessingThis was my favorite part of the book. It mentions things like how to do friction welding to put pieces together with just a rotary tool. There are also tips on painting and many other things here that are worth checking out.All-in-all is was worth the $10 for me being at the beginner stages of 3D printing, but I felt like if you were going to charge to put together a bunch of free or already made tutorials, you should take the time to update them and keep them current.

Definately not what I was expecting. This book is more of a marketing scam than a technical book. Quick buy this book for troubleshhoting and maintenance tips. NOT, how about buy this book and we will tell you to save your time and have your prints done elsewere!Gave it two stars because it has color photos..... actually I am still not sure why I am giving it two stars. If thete was a zero I would give it a one star.

Good for the beginner. Some important info on using printers.

This is a great guide to 3D printing.

Good introduction to 3D printing, you could find most of this information on the web and I knew that before I purchased. However I wanted everything in one easy place to research. If you're new to 3d printing this is a good place to start.
