Despite her lack of familiarity with humans, Annika is a woman who knows what she wants.Our villain, the dark goddess Nerezza, has found herself a human partner in Andre Malmon who is a bored killer who has had previous run-ins with Sawyer and with Riley. If he weren't so irredeemably evil, I could feel sorry for him because his relationship with Nerezza changes him for the worse. But Malmon makes his bargain eagerly and ends up changed and enslaved to her.Since one of the main viewpoint characters in this one isn't human, we get a lot of Annika's joy and curiosity. We also get a lot of opportunities to see her struggling with idioms and customs of humans. For example, she has a very different way of dealing with nakedness and talking about sex. Luckily, her new sisters Riley and Sasha are there to clear up some of her confusion.Again, this story is trademark Roberts in the relationships she builds between the characters and their acceptance of each others strengths and weaknesses. Friendships matter in a Roberts book. I can't wait to read the next one both to see the end to their quest and to see the relationship that is coming next.

Book One truly sets everything up and improves the pleasure of reading Bay of Sighs. I guarantee that any reader beginning with Book Two will not only wish that they had read the books in order, they will also turn to immediately begin reading Stars of Fortune.We have another great new original publication by Nora Roberts in the Guardians Trilogy! Bay of Sighs, book two in the aforementioned trilogy, continues where Stars of Fortune (book 1) left off. The guardians are still pursuing the stars - one per book - while the relationships between the six continue to develop. As any Nora Roberts reader recognizes and I believe now expects, 3 women and 3 men featured in a trilogy allows one of the greatest pleasures of Ms. Roberts readers, her incredible talent for the perfect mix of developing romances, focusing heavily on one romantic couple per book, as well as fleshing out the deepening interpersonal relationships between the six.As the general plot was laid out in book 1, there was more availability in this book for the other characters' details and motivations. Of course there is no shortage of action and suspense either, both written as well as romance by Ms. Roberts.Seriously, is there anything she isn't able to write excellently???- I read an average of 5 books per week and there are very few books I ever read twice. I almost always find at minimum 3-5 proofreading errors and I don't recall the last time I caught any errors in new NR publications. I read most genres and have had these reading habits since I was a child. The ratio of books I'd look forward to re-reading versus the number of books in my personal library is minuscule. I have quite a few more Nora Roberts/ JD Robb (NR books actually) that I am able to truly enjoy reading again than any other authors.The greatest compliments I am personally able to give any author are actually wanting to read the book(s) again as well as missing the characters and "wondering" what they're up to as well as where their paths lead to in the future. I wholeheartedly extend these compliments to Ms. Roberts and thank her for diligently writing with such talent for all of her readers. My only wish is that she would revisit some of her previous series and pen new novels with the characters lives present day. We can only hope that maybe one day she'll do so.My only complaint (really more of an observation) is that going into any trilogy / series readers generally assume that the events in the second book / next to final edition will all work out and line up as a bridge to connect the final book. However, as part of her own special magic, Ms. Roberts masterfully keeps her readers glued straight through to the final page of Bay of Sighs.Ms. Roberts, thank you for a fantastic Saturday afternoon with Sasha, Annika, Riley, Bran, Doyle and Sawyer!I'll be missing them until I finish the trilogy...

I am a huge fan of Nora Roberts, especially her trilogies. However, this one is just plain awful. Same old story, same old characters, and same old formula for plot and character development that has been used way too much in her books lately. The first book was OK. I was hoping for better with the second book but I was sorely disappointed. I will read the third book just because I am OCD that way and have to finish the series. Maybe it will be better. Not holding my breath though.

What an adventure reading this book! It's a mix of historical fiction, murder-mystery, coming-of-age, and romance blended so perfectly well in a simple narrative. Jo Monfort is a 17-year-old daughter of one of the wealthiest families in late 1800 New York City. But her life took a spin when her father is found dead with a gunshot wound inside their estate. Secretly aspiring to become a writer, Jo tries to uncover the truth behind her father's death with the help of people she least expected to meet: a handsome cub reporter, a pickpocket, a smart man working in the morgue... The first part of the book is exciting, and I was afraid it wouldn't sustain its pace by the time I reached the middle. But like Jo, who was sheltered all her life, the book slowly revealed the realities of life in New York City that Jo had been missing. I love that Jo was naive due to her wealthy upbringing, and yet she still pursued the things mattered to her. She was fragile yet brave, and she never gave up. The touch of feminism is so strong in this novel, and the author showed how women struggled to achieve who they want to be during that time. There is also a strong romance sub-plot that added more interest in the story, and I love how the "love triangle" trope proved essential and not forced in helping Jo's journey to self-discovery. The climax might be predictable on my part, but all issues fell into the right place and the ending is just almost perfect.

I always like Healy’s John Francis Cuddy short stories in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine and the books in the Cuddy series. This book is as good as the rest.Shallow Graves, the 7th in the Cuddy series shows Healy at the peak of his talent. The story is twisty and fresh and Healy has Cuddy slowly amass the clues (instead of having them fall into his lap in a lump 90% through the story) that lead to the resolution of the murder of a young model.It's a bit refreshing, too, to read a story where everyone doesn’t have a cell phone and a car phone is a novelty.There were, sadly, a ton of production errors in this e-book – something that by now should be a thing of the past, especially in a book first published in 1992, when all publishers employed proofreaders and copy editors to make sure such goofs didn’t happen. And Amazon continues its unique ability to tell me a book is so many pages long but not number those pages in the e-book.There are 13 Cuddy novels, and I only have two more to read. I wish there were 30 more but sadly Mr. Healy left us 5 years ago, so there will be no more. And that’s a loss for mystery readers everywhere

Being proper and wealthy were what made you important. She has an opportunity to be with a dashing and wealthy man who would take care of her. Her family approves but she's conflicted. Does she love him? All plans change when her father is found dead.Jo is a remarkable character. You know deep down, she wants to break free from the social standards her families holds her up to. She can't shake the thought that something is suspicious about her father's 'accidental death'. She seeks out a handsome reporter, who helps her on this journey to find the truth.Eddie is another character I absolutely loved. He is charming and the tension and relationship development between the two were exciting to read.Through a series of events, everything they thought they knew. . .isn't.There were a few slow moments that I felt dragged on a bit, but it still held my attention. This book is different than my usual genre, and I'm happy I gave it a chance.I love fast-paced books, and because there were times it dragged a bit, I couldn't quite give it that 5 stars, but you might. The ending of this book though...hold onto your hats. It's heart-pounding.

Of course, she falls for him even though they are not a socially acceptable match. Close to 500 pages, this book flew and will keep readers engaged from the first page to the last. Well, sakes alive! This was an absolute blast to read. Being from the south, hearing the 'twang' in the written dialect as I read this book was an outright treat. Every common phrase that gets used there and nowhere else felt so natural.The characters were just the type you'd expect to find in the south, including our main character, the fairy queen. The mixture of this realistic culture and the fantastical fairy culture and the flawless way they blended together was, to be honest, unexpected. It just seemed like something that should clash. It didn't. It makes me wonder if I didn't live next to fairies my whole life!To top it all off...the story didn't go quite in the direction I expected. This was a really fun read. I'll definitely continue the series!

In addition to proofreading errors, sometimes two different people would speak in the same paragraph, making the reading awkward. Once there was even an entire paragraph that was repeated on the next page. However, it's a tribute to the story that regardless of these issues, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book.This World had almost everything from Trolls and Kelpies to Red Hats and Aswangs (yep, that one was a new one for me). Not to mention Medusa's son, a winged Were-Hog. It had a murder mystery. It had romance. It had humor. Strong language.The characters were interesting. The World was intriguing. I did want a bit more character depth (especially for the Hero). I wasn't real happy that the backstory of the Heroine was told by flashbacks, because that interrupted the flow of the story. But I loved all the supernaturals and the premise of a Fae Queen living in a trailer park.I will happily continue with this series.

These days, I am reluctant to start a “true” series. I blame all of those excellent BUT waaaayyyyy too long UF series that made us wade through 10+ books to get to the end. So here I am starting a new UF series. But it’s sooooooo good. World building, character development, good storyline, excellent editing and flow - it’s all here and with a fresh new spin on the faery princess plot. At times hilariously funny, the author deftly steers the characters away from tipping over the edge into campiness. Plus this first book does NOT end with a “throw your Kindle against the wall in frustration” cliff hanger. No, it ends well; tying up the immediate story line with just enough carrot dangling at the end of the stick to encourage you to buy book 2. And this is just as it should be. Thank you Kimbra Swain.

Dark topics (such as family abandonment and child abduction) thread through a story of loss and laughter amidst striving to build a family of friends. There were many facets to the back story and it will be fascinating to delve into more character development in this series.

But when two children go missing, the humans point to the trailer park queen helping the sheriff, and the zealots point at the exiled fairy. Grace must decide whether to fight for her innocence or break her contract returning to life on the run.

A strong series start to an incredibly deep world with love, fairies, bards, killers, werewolves, druids, and one were-pig. A combination romance and urban fantasy - never forgetting the sexy vibes or the fantasy dreams.The main character is amazing - a unique voice combining the best of Trailer Park Trash and B**ch Fairy Queen. Plus every character in the story is a Character with a capital "C". Take all that and then add in a layers of story, a complicated knot worthy of elven court mechanisms - every time I think things are as convoluted as things can go with murder and politics, Ms. Swain pops our Trailer Park Fairy Queen one level deeper to swing around some grits, hips, and wits.If you want a character-driven story, look no further.

Let me preface by informing you that I'm generally not a fan of nonfiction, as it tends to bore me to tears. 'Of, By, and For the Hanged Man' never bored me. Not once. In fact, the author does a damn good job at keeping you engaged and delighted throughout. I found myself laughing out loud on more than one occasion, and I've already recommended it to numerous friends. It's an easy read, and I mean that in the best way.It was just what I needed right now- and likely what you need too if you're overwhelmed at the current state of the world. 'Of, By, and For the Hanged Man' gave me some hope wrapped in some comedy and profanity (my favorite type of hope). Hope I haven't been able to access over the last few years. Hope we all desperately need.Don't let the title fool you. You do not need to be a man to appreciate this work. I am a millennial female (hopefully a bright and shiny one- as the author so kindly describes us) that also loves Frank Castle (read the book) and has a small understanding of the Fermi Paradox. You may be a middle-aged white male or elderly black female, and I still think you will find something to appreciate in this book. The work never felt out of touch, and although I can't necessarily relate to some of his anecdotes, Pfeffer authored the book in a way that really allows the reader to connect to his experiences. At times I felt like he was in my head, telling me my own thoughts in my own words, but I also feel a fair amount more educated on various topics after having read it. I only wish there was more about the Fermi Paradox and shark attacks. I thoroughly enjoyed 'Of, By, and For the Hanged Man' from start to finish. You will too. - Britt Benson

Not a self help book, more of a Life Skills Road Map, this book is a gem. It is an incredibly fast and entertaining read, unusual in that it is also a tremendously thoughtful, thought-provoking, and heartfelt journey. I usually find the "what I learned during my crazy life" memoirs-turned philosophical debates a slog, but Pfeffer has pulled off a great feat: in sharing his own journey (through his unique and forthcoming POV), we're enjoying the ride while contemplating our own choices, asking how honestly we're tackling the road of life. If you're not rethinking things and asking yourself questions throughout, you're missing the point. I wish there were more works like this out there. And while i'm on it, this one is ideal for a book club.

The author has successfully tapped the spirit and duality of a generation that has been craving a fresh perspective. “Of, By, And For The Hanged Man” delicately balances a difficult equation of reflection and optimism without asking for forgiveness (or sympathy). While the author’s journey is not uncommon, few (if any) have found the ability to craft a relatable voice that clearly articulates the fears, anxieties and promise that every generation will face in its own way.Ok. What does this mean? All the fancy book review rhetoric aside, simply, this is just a really great book. You’ll be glad you took this ride. So much so you might want to take it again, share it to friends, make it a book club selection...whatever gets you talking about the important stuff in life.Lean back. Enjoy. Truly, you’ll be happy you did.

A. M. Pfeffer's, "Of, By, And For The Hanged Man", is a fascinating memoir that tackles the contradictions and paradox of our daily lives. Pfeffer's story is truly unique and lends perspectives from both his personal life experiences and broader society (e.g., politics, religion). His humor allows you to speed through the book at quite the fast pace and his various personal anecdotes are pretty hilarious. Enjoy the twists and turns of this must read book!!!

I haven't read anything by A.M. Pfeffer before, but have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It's not only extremely funny, but also thoughtful in the ways A.M. assesses both the personal highs and lows in his life so far. There's lessons to be learned from everything. This book will have you thinking well after you finish it, I know that's what it did to me. Pick it up once, and I doubt you'll be able to put it down.

What a fantastic read! The author takes you through the ups and downs that life has to offer. Yet, his continued drive and perseverance is one that any individual can aspire to implement in their own daily lives. There is nothing the author hides from in his book...his vulnerability is actually admirable...and his truthfulness is nothing short of honorable.Well done Mr. A.M. Pfeffer!KLK

Especially at a time when introspection is much needed in an era of absurd divisive political and impersonal noise. Kudos to Pfeffer for giving us a highly readable guide we could all use right now.

Read the book in two sittings over one weekend. Pfeffer touched on a broad range of topics, expressed many of his personal opinions and backed them up with factual detail. His writing style is unique and entertaining and the flow of the book kept me engaged and wanting to read more before putting it down.

A beautiful, big coffee table book not only full of well-reproduced posters but also a brief history of the American war effort as touched upon by the subjects of those posters.Rawls starts out with a brief history of the lithographic poster, an art form still in its golden age during the war. The art poster, not only advertising a product but also aesthetically interesting to collectors, started in France. He also talks about some of the famed European poster artists and their American counterparts on the eve of the war.The poster was an ideal form of communication in the days before radio and tv, a form that yanked eyes to it and imparted a message even to the illiterate or those not speaking the language of the land they found themselves in. Every nation in the war used them. A German artist who later achieved some political prominence said that American and British posters were the best of the war, uncluttered and effectively conveying their demands to the viewer, conveying and persuading.The book has a number of non-American posters illustrating events in the pre- and early war years or those few that inspired American imitators.Americans were producing posters concerned with the war even before the country joined the conflict. Most begged for money to relieve suffering in France and Belgium, an effort very efficiently managed by future President Herbert Hoover. Others were affiliated with the 1915 preparedness efforts of groups like the private National Security League to get ready for a war they thought inevitable.On April 17, 1917, a mere 11 days after America entered the war, the president of the Society of Illustrators, Charles Dana Gibson, the man who created the famous pictures of Gibson girls, was asked by illustrator George Creel to let the latter form a committee to produce whatever artwork the government needed. On April 22nd, Gibson met with Creel and the Division of Pictorial Publicity of the Committee on Public Information was born.By the end of the war, they had produced 700 poster designs to the U.S. government as well as hundreds of other advertisements, cartoons, banners, seals, and buttons.The subjects were multiple: recruiting for the military, food and fuel conservation, war bond, war films, counterespionage and security awareness, book drives, the Veterinary Corps, the Y.W.C.A and Y.M.C.A, women in factories, war gardens, and admonitions to immigrants (often in foreign languages) to prove their loyalty.The book talks about American at war through the context of these posters with some mostly forgotten stories like the largely unsuccessful attempt to produce a purely American fighter plane, the Liberty Plane (proclaimed by American ace Eddie Rickenbacker as “Flaming Coffins”) or the specifics of the Liberty Loan drives or a call by the U.S. Navy for citizens to loan them binoculars and spy-glasses.There are a few post-war posters about hiring veterans, getting other veterans to re-enlist, and the “Watch on the Rhine” overseeing defeated Germany.Of definite interest for those interested in poster art and World War One. With 279 pages of text and at least one poster on almost every page, there are hundreds of things to look at here.

I couldn't let this listing pass without posting a better ranking than appears so far. I believe this to be an outstanding book. It is an excellent presentation of the poster art of the era, and how the artists/illustrators fit into and advanced the war effort. It also provides a concise, understandable, and essential summary of World War I. More "history books" should be like this.

While Rawls takes a somewhat naive approach to the motives and methods behind America's actions leading up to and during the First World War, his book incorporates the history of the propaganda poster into a readable, highly useful examination of WWI phenomena including the Committee on Public Information, the Liberty Loans and the US Food Administration.Essential reading for students of American military poster propaganda and the circumstances on the home front during the Great War, though I'd recommend getting your political interpretation of this period from other sources (for instance, "The Politics of War" by Walter Karp -- quite a different take on the same period, particularly on Wilson's motives).

Another example of a bargain table book in a Barnes & Noble or Borders. Not much good to say for it.

Vendor sent quickly, almost new quality at used price. Beautiful book with many large colored illustrations. Very interesting and informative book for any country music fans/musicians. I found it very entertaining as a musician (first copy was a present to me from one of my music students, I bought this as a present to my brother, another professional musician). Only so much info can be covered in a book this size and unless it is revised soon, much current country info is not here, but descriptions of the birth and growth of country and related music is with many surprises. The Everly brothers for instance originally grew in Nashville, Bob Dylan spent time there. Grand Old Opry and King Biscuit Flour Hour fans will also find interesting facts here. California became a huge growth center around Okeh Records as Texas country musicians had to migrate during the dust bowl to more fertile ground. And if you want to make friends in Texas, mention Bob Wills!

This book is a real treat. Each page comes alive with great photos, artist background and recorded information. Of all the books I have seen, own, or read about country music, this one is very comprehensive. I worked at a top country station in the 70's and early 80's and don't remember any books around that were nearly as well done as this one. You will enjoy it!

This book provided just what I was looking for -- a thorough, well presented background on country music from the early days to the present. It is amply illustrated and serves as a history book/encyclopedia as well as a handsome coffee table book. I think any fan of this musical genre would be glad to own a copy.

My mother has always loved country music and this was a big hit when she received it for Christmas. Great "coffee table" book also.

This book is simply outstanding. It is easy to read, it is very, well illustrated. It is very comprehensive, very authoritative, and was written & illustrated by many authors & contributors. "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" is displayed in big letters in the Rotunda of the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN. The Rotunda is where all the plaques of the inductees are on display. I've been there and I've seen this. The inductee plaques begin with the early inductees, like the Carter Family & Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, and when I was there in 2006, the most recent inductee plaque was one for Alabama. Also, in this Rotunda, there is a large painting entitled "The Origins of Country Music". A picture of this large painting is in this Book "Will the Circle Be Unbroken".This book covers the complete history of Country Music, beginning with some of the early artists like the Carter Family & Jimmie Rodgers and others, and continues through all the major Country Music Stars up throughGrechen Wilson and some the more recent stars.This book even covers Southern Rock & such bands as the Allman Brothers, the Charlie Daniels Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd & others. It also covers the legendary Gram Parsons and Alternative Country or "Americana".If I had to choose one book on American Country Music, I'd choose this one. I ordered this book for my granddaughter, and it was just delivered. It looks adorable and I am sure she will love it. The problem is in the shipping. It is a soft cover book and although the book was obviously shipped flat; it was shipped in a soft pack without cardboard or anything so the entire package was folded in half. There is a crease in the book. Before giving it to my granddaughter, I am going to try to flatten it out by sticking a ton of other things on top to weigh it down. I am just surprised it was shipped so carelessly.

When Talia visits her grandmother, she is asked to help make Hamantaschen, special cookies for Purim. This doesn’t sound very tasty to Talia and she calls the cookies Haman-tushies. While preparing the cookies, Talia learns the story of Purim. Of course, Talia had lots of questions and she learned so much from her grandmother. Do you think Talia will at least try a Hamantaschen?The Jewish holiday Purim is celebrated on March 12th. It is a celebration of Queen Esther who saved the Jewish people from Haman’s plot to destroy them. Readers will be enlightened by this story and learn about Jewish culture. Expressive illustrations invite readers to share in the history of the holiday. Simple sentence structure help beginners gain confidence in their reading skills. The back pages share a special recipe for readers to try at home.

The trees on the farm were just starting to blossom and it was time for Talia to visit Grandma. The snow was gone, the grass was green and “Purim was coming.” Grandma got out her cookbook and turned to the recipe for Hamantaschen, “special cookies for Purim.” Talia put her hand on her chin and looked over at Grandma with amazement. “Haman-tushies?” she thought. “YUCK! What kind of cookie was that?” Certainly not anything fit for little girls to eat. No way!Grandma began to mix up the ingredients for those Haman-tushies and began to tell Talia “the story of Purim.” It all began in “the city of Shusan in faraway Persia” when King Ahashuerus was thinking of getting married. Of course being a king, he had his choice from “all the young women from his kingdom.” The woman he selected was “Esther, a Jewish girl who was brave, smart, and beautiful,” whom he quickly fell in love with and married.Talia was surprised that the Queen of Persia was Jewish and after gathering fillings for those Haman-tushies, Grandma continued. To make a long story short, there was some “plotting against the king” and Queen Esther relayed the information to King Ahashuerus. The cookie making continued as did the story. There was Mordechai and the king’s prime minister, “a proud, wicked man named Haman.” There was going to be trouble in the kingdom and Queen Esther could perish at the hands of Haman. Would he hurt the Jewish people and more importantly, would Talia have to eat those yucky Haman-tushies?This is a fun, humorous tale about the story of Purim and Hamantaschen that will make little ones laugh. Of course Talia misunderstood what Grandma said and certainly wasn’t going to eat anything in the tushie line. This alone will make the young audience laugh because they’ll certainly know that there’s no such thing as Haman-tushies. This is certainly a very unique way to introduce the story of Purim to very young children. As Grandma works, the tale alternates between her relaying the Purim story to Talia as they make the Haman-tushies. I definitely loved this delightful tale! The content of this book is comprehensive, but some examples in the 13th edition (latest edition) are incorrect. For example on page 158, problem 10 has two valid answers, A and E.Hopefully next editions will correct some of these mistakes.

The book is very good. It was the main reason that I got an 800. But the problem with the book is that the explanations to the answer choices can be very vague or not make sense at times. It goes into more than any other test prep book but in terms of its presentation the barons math level 1 is better.

This book is wise and exceedingly readable. Any church or Christian community that sincerely engages this biblically grounded vision will find a hopeful and creative future opening before them.

Adam clearly articulates the purpose and practice of justice in the local church context. In this book we can see God’s plan for God’s people to bear witness to the whole gospel of Jesus Christ that moves beyond an outreach strategy. God’s plan for Shalom is a the way of life for local churches in communities and neighborhoods. As our American Church culture continues to struggle with new strategies to reach the lost in a post modern world, Adam shows us God’s original plan for God’s people that has always been at the center of God’s heart. Shalom! Abundant flourishing for all of creation together! This is good news!

Adam Gustine writes this in Becoming a Just Church: "...would someone who only lived in your sanctuary know thatthere is a real world outside of it and that that world is wracked with injustice?" In my personal experience of church for much of my life, the answer to this question would be no. And I think many people with an evangelical church background would say the same. We wonder then why people who live life in the margins feel out of place in our churches.He goes on to say "If we were to consider the normative experience in many evangelical churches, it would appear that the real world outside the walls of the church was not considered. Ignoring the world outside, particularly the moments of extreme brokenness and injustice, is a subtle way of being a high-ground church. Because high-ground society is largely insulated from the injustice of the world, there is a certain degree of freedom not to talk about issues that arise in our world. For people who experience life as vulnerable or marginalized people, walking into a gathering for corporate worship and not talking about the issues they experience day to day often seems offensive."So good. So needed. Highly reccomended!

Directed primarily at North American white evangelicals, Becoming a Just Church explores the question, What would it look like for the church to embody God’s justice in the world? For many evangelicals the topic itself will be anathema, but for a growing subset of evangelicals, God’s call to pursue justice is of paramount concern, and as Gustine insists, a central theme of Scripture. As such, he makes the case that justice cannot be confined to one program area of the church, but must become a way of life for God's people. Walking us through the biblical storyline, Gustine draws out a theology of justice rooted in the ultimate picture of God’s kingdom of Shalom. This section alone is worth the price the book.One of the other great gifts of Becoming a Just Church is the vocabulary and imagery Gustine invokes to offer readers a framework for imagining and living into God’s justice. He also does us the favor throughout of providing honest and critical reflection on his own pastoral experiences, which I suspect will resonate deeply for pastors who find themselves on a similar journey. The discussion questions after each chapter are thoughtful, provocative and useful for guiding discussion in small group settings. Our church will definitely benefit from having this as a resource and guide!

This is an excellent book! I really appreciate that this is not merely a treatise for justice in the church, or strictly theological (though there is plenty of strong theological work here), but the author begins at becoming the kind of people who embody the justice of God. He also provides several great thoughts and questions for further consideration and practical steps toward application in our own context at the end of each chapter. An incredibly helpful tool for further processing and discerning next steps, both personally and as leadership teams.Such a welcome contribution to a very pertinent issue. As Gustine writes, “Injustice is tangible evidence of the kingdom of darkness at work in the world.“ But in this book Gustine vividly paints the picture of how God works through us as the church to bear the light of his kingdom into that darkness as a parable, a demonstration of the shalom of God. As we become just as a people, the light of God breaks into the brokenness of this world, and that is when truly transformative things happen.
